Although an unusual transaction due to our conclusion to sell to a non-profit institution as a long term owner, Stillwater still achieved an outstanding investment result with an attractive IRR in excess of 50%.
In addition, after developing a tremendous respect for Chuck Nelson, the family member who handled the sale, we arranged for Chuck to have the right to continue to enjoy the property and to pursue his lifetime photographic study of this extraordinary part of California. We also worked with Chuck to help him publish his memoirs about growing up on the ranch, in a book entitled Life at the End of a Dirt Road, available through Amazon.com.
