Fly Fishing Tin Cup Spring Creek

Wyoming Game and Fish (WGF) studied the Salt River extensively, reporting that fisherman surveys for this reach of the Salt River show the highest catch per mile on the Salt. This reach of the Salt is also unique in that it reportedly has the highest number of rainbow and native Snake River Cutthroat of any reach on the Salt River.  Further, the catch rate is one of the highest ever recorded in Wyoming, suggesting phenomenal action when the fish are on. WGF has identified Jackknife Creek as the most important spawning tributary for native Snake River Cutthroat along the Salt River.

The property offers not only great fishing but also excellent waterfowl hunting and observation opportunities. The expansive sub-irrigated pastureland is ideally suited for the creation of one or more trout and duck ponds. We have created one such pond in cooperation with our neighbors, the Perkins, and are also researching the creation of a second spring creek anabranch of the Salt River, which would provide an additional mile of private fly fishing water.
